Kung Fu Panda...

I love kids. My little cousin Joshua is 6 years old and he constantly keeps me laughing. Most of the time I try to hide that I'm laughing because he's usually doing something that isn't very "nice" behavior. But he's a great kid and extremely smart. Plus he's pretty stinkin adorable. Right?

Now that I have less than 30 days before I leave for China I'm trying to eat all of my favorite foods while I can. One of my favorite foods in the whole world is my grandmothers recipe for Chicken Dumplings. I know everyone thinks their grandma's chicken dumplings are the best but I'm afraid you are sadly mistaken. Granny Smith is the bomb.com at making wonderful foods. Anyways before I offend anyone, I asked my mom and my aunt to make dumplings one last time before I left for China. And my reasoning behind asking for this specific meal was obviously China isn't going to have chicken dumplings like my Granny makes.

But Joshua heard his mom and dad talking about how I wanted "chicken dumplings" before I leave because China doesn't have dumplings and Joshua said "yes they do" and my uncle asked Joshua how he knew that China had dumplings and Joshua response was "I just know, they have dumplings in China. tell Chrissy they do" so again my uncle asked Joshua how he knew and Joshua said "I saw it on Kung Fu Panda. Panda's dad sales dumplings. That's his job. So China does have dumplings."

Joshua thought he was going to sneak out of this picture but I caught him before he escaped. The 3D glasses were for Joshua but in every picture I'm the only one sporting them. Joshua kept taking his off right before we took the pictures. I guess they didn't match his "Prince Caspian" costume.

He really loves me. I'm sure of it. But he tells me daily that I have girl "cuddies"


On another exciting note: drum roll please...............
I will be speaking with the children at my church this Sunday morning about China and it's orphans. There is a mission minded program called Ropetown at TCABC and they "adopt" a country every month and learn things about the country. They learn how to speak the language, about the religions that are practiced there and also how to witness to that specific nationality. Isn't that awesome? But it just so happens that the country for February is China. So I will be talking to the children about my kids in China and also they have partnered to help me collect board games for the children in China. And once I get to China and get settled in I'm going to skype with the kids in Oklahoma from the orphanage. Isn't that just so cool? I'm really excited about it. But I've never really spoken in front of 50 or so children at one time so it will be interesting to see how well I can keep their attention. I thought about buying all of them chopsticks but I'm afraid of a group of little American boys and chopsticks. It could get ugly fast. And I would love to be able to find Koala's (a wonderful chinese cookie) and give them to the kids but I'm afraid their teachers would never talk to me again because I would be pumping the kids with sugar. I'm going to have to get creative with my presentation. Prayers would be great appreciated. :)
