Blindfully following...

Exciting news............ drum roll please........... The games drive for orphans is officially started at TCABC. Within the first Sunday I've already collected 8 games. Which is great! If you have no idea what I am talking about I will try to fill you in quickly. The Church at BattleCreek in Tulsa, OK is having a Board Games Drive for the Chinese orphans I will soon be living with. We are accepting board games for the entire month of February and then we will be shipping them off to China in the first week of March. If you need more info on the board games drive or you have a question feel free to e-mail me ( chrissy.nicole.adams@gmail.com)

But I got to speak with the beautiful 1-5th graders at my church last night about China (probably around 40 kids) And they are so excited to help pray for the Chinese orphans and also to help buy games for them. They were asking me if they could become pen pals with the kids in China because they were really wanting to get more involved. I'm very excited to see how God is going to use the children in America to minister to the children in China. And the children in China to minster to the children in America.

Thank you for your prayers this week! I have had a very, very busy week but I have had a peace in the chaos. I am just so grateful for a loving and supportive group of friends and family.

I am reading the book Experiencing God in my quiet times this week and I found something that I have been holding on to this week throughout the chaos:

"God's invitation for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action"

But this quote has been extra helpful for me this week because it is a constant reminder that I am involved in something that I cannot do on my own. And that even the greatest disciples and prophets doubted their own abilities but learned to blindfully trust God's direction and abilities instead of their own.

On a funnier note: I went to the Asian supermarket in Tulsa yesterday and instantly upon walking in I had this thought "I am going to starve in China". But I loved walking through the isles of food because I felt like home in the smelliness. Even when walking past all of the live creatures and fish I thought I can't wait to be back in China.

But a dear sweet friend of mine gave me verses of encouragement this past week that have been such a blessing. Thanks Jessica. :) So I'll leave you with this:

The Lord directs the steps of the Godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the Lord holds them by the hand.
Psalms 37:23-24

23 days left. Please continue to pray that I will be able to raise rest of my financail support before I leave for China. ($3,500)

Love, Chrissy

  1. Sitting here smiling at you feeling at home in the "smelliness" of the Asian market. Each time we have been to China to welcome home our daughters....I would literally attempt to drink in, memorize and carry with me anything that would be a keepsake of China....I so understand the "smelliness" as if I am standing there right now. So, thankful for you blindfully following.

In as Asian market, I too, could truly feel at home. Seems each time we've traveled to China we have left a bit of ourselves there!!!

    In our prayers!!!

  2. You've got my prayers, for sure. And you need to get on creating that Paypal account! Do it now, please. Haha. Make sure to tell Michael about the board game thing, if he hasn't already read this. I want to say we even had an unopened board game at our house, but I could be wrong.
