My Mom is my hero.
I realize not very many people in this world are able to make such a statement but I'm blessed beyond measure.
In a world of broken families, I was privileged and blessed to have my family.
If you know anything about our story and what we've been through you will look at my last statement with confusion and bewilderment.
But God gave my family my Mom.
Both of my parents are wonderful, loving and Godly people but today is Mothers Day so my Mom gets to steal the show this time. (sorry Dad)
My Mom has always been a wonderful Woman of God.
All my life I grew up knowing that my Mom loved Jesus more than she loved anything else on this earth. And that is why I am so thankful for her.
Mom has always been a grace giver and a self less Mother.
She always had her family as her first priority over her own desires.
I know that no Mother has an easy job raising children, but my Mom had me and my sisters so she really had her work cut out for her.
One of my fondest memories of my Mom is when I was in 4th grade. She was driving me to school and as we were pulling up in the parking lot we saw the play ground. If you got to school early enough you could play on the playground until school started but on that day when we drove up my Mom and I saw that there was a little boy cornered in the fence by a big group of bullies. It was obvious that this little boy was going to be beat up and all of the bigger kids were screaming at the little boy in the corner. All of a sudden my Mom pulls our car right up to the fence directly behind the little boy. Mom got out of the car and started talking to the bullies telling them to leave this little boy alone. And they did.
(Meanwhile the whole time my Mom was outside of the car I had hid my face in my lap and was praying that no one would know that this was my Mom.)
I was embarrassed at the time that my Mom had done the right thing and stood up for the little boy that couldn't protect himself. Little did I know at that time that would be one of my favorite memories of my Mom.
My Momma sees people through Christ's eyes.
She doesn't care if she looks crazy to complete strangers or to her own family, She is going to serve the Lord with all of her being and she loves people the way that God loves people.
So Happy Mothers Day Mom.
I love you and I'm so thankful to have such an amazing woman of God as my Mom.
I love you.
