cloudy day in Luoyang...

I asked You for life, and You sent your son to die for me.
I asked You for hope, You came in the night and gave me a dream.
I asked You for freedom, You broke every chain and gave me the keys.
I asked You for love never-ending and every day You surround me.

Kim Walker- I asked you for life

I found Kim Walker this week through an e-mail from my mommy. If you love you some good worship music, go download her stuff, I have being playing it non stop and my roommate is hating me for it. :) But I cannot get enough of her for some reason. This song has been a huge ministering tool to me for a few days now.

I have tons and tons of things I could write about but I'm going to ask for prayer for team and myself. These past few days have been very busy and very tiring. We had an amazing Easter with the kids and I will be sure to write about that soon but ever since Easter there has been a very evident heaviness in Luoyang and with my team of friends.
It's hard to put into words but there is a spiritual heaviness here that is constantly fighting for our joy and it's kind of kicking all of our butts right now. There is always a struggle to do everyday little things when you are living in a foreign environment but we have been struggling in the spiritual things as well. So I would ask you guys to pray for a few things:

-please pray that God would help us break through this spiritual and physical fog
-please pray that God would minister to each of my friends on a deeper level
-please pray that this heaviness would be lifted from our hearts, our lives, and this city
-please pray that God would give all of us encouraging words for one another and that God would allow us to minister to each other
-please pray that we all realize that we cannot achieve anything in our own strength and that we would wait for God to work in our situations
-please pray that God would give us patience in the areas of our lives that we are waiting on a word from God

Moral of the story: God is faithful, He true, He is ever present, He is the great provider, He is all knowing, His understanding surpasses our earthly wisdom, His timing is perfect, and He will never leave or forsake His children. He is the father to the fatherless, the Husband to the widow, the Friend to the friendless, the Comforter to the broken heart, and the Encourager to the weary soul.

"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
A stronghold in times of trouble,
Those who know your name will trust in you,
for you, Lord have never forsaken those who seek you"
Ps 9:9-10

Thank you so much for your prayers, and I can honestly say that prayer has never been more evident since I've been here. I love that all I have to do is write in my blog and I know that people that care for me and my team are there to lift us up. Thank you so much for your hearts and your prayers.
Love, Chrissy

  2. I pray that the heavenly father would lift you and your team up during this time of heaviness of hearts and soul. I pray that the enemy would not find a foothold w/you or any member of your team. May God show up to revive this nation and reveal himself in a strong and mighty way for his glory. May the children hear the true message of hope and love that you all bring of our loving savior Jesus. May God give you the strength you need.
