Daniel...

Everyone meet Daniel

Daniel has an unusual story compared to the majority of our babies here at the foster home. Daniel is around 7 or 8 months old and he is completely healthy. (as far as we know)
But what makes his story unusual from the rest of our babies is instead of being brought to us from the orphanage we picked him up from the hospital.

We got a call from the hospital notifying us to pick up a baby that had been left there. Daniel was left at the hospital because he was believed to be positive of the HIV/Aids virus. We don't know if he had been tested positive for the virus but we knew he was abandoned. Daniel was picked up and tested again for HIV/Aids 3 times, and all 3 times his test results came back negative. (praise Jesus)
But he was already around 2 or 3 months old. So at that point he had already been neglected pretty severely. The back of Daniel's head was very deformed due to laying in his bed for the majority of his little life. We are assuming that where ever Daniel was before he was at the hospital he was already believed to have the HIV/Aids virus and due to that he was not handled for fear of contracting the disease.

But like I said before, Daniel is completely virus free. (thank you Jesus)
But he is a sweet little boy. He was very inactive and unresponsive when he first came home to Starfish but through love and care Daniel is recovering very quickly.
He didn't have any control over his neck or limbs at first because he had never been properly exercised but now through hard work he can hold his head up on his own.
He's a precious little guy and is always learning and growing stronger.
His story was heartbreaking but now he as hope of a beautiful future.
One full of love and hope and a forever family.
